Area of Research: Comparative Politics

Daria Schleifer is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at Tel Aviv University. Her research lies at the intersection of political behavior, democratic theory, and political psychology, with a particular focus on political violence in contemporary democracies.

Her doctoral research examines the relationship between democratic commitments and support for political violence, asking when and why individuals may come to justify violence in the name of democratic values. More broadly, her research interests include democratic identity and political selfhood, the moral and ideological foundations of political behavior, political polarization, and the role of rhetoric and framing in shaping attitudes toward violence.

Her work combines theoretical inquiry with quantitative and experimental methods, including survey research, survey experiments, causal inference, and comparative analysis.

She holds a B.A. in Political Science, Communications, and Literature and an M.A. in Political Science, both from Tel Aviv University. Her M.A. thesis examined the relationship between democracy, equality, and the emergence of post-truth epistemologies.
