Area of Research: Political Economy

Yaara Shapira is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science. Her research primarily focuses on political economy, public choice, and the design of political institutions, using formal theory and quantitative methods. Alongside her academic work, Shapira is a correspondent for the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, covering the Knesset, and also serves as a news anchor. She graduated from Tel Aviv University’s excellence Program in Philosophy, Economics, and Political Science.

יערה שפירא היא דוקטורנטית בחוג למדע המדינה. עבודתה מתמקדת בעיקר בכלכלה פוליטית, Public Choice ועיצוב מוסדות פוליטיים, בעזרת תיאוריה פורמלית ושיטות מחקר כמותניות.
במקביל למחקר, שפירא משמשת ככתבת תאגיד השידור הישראלי בכנסת וכמגישת חדשות.
בוגרת התואר בתוכנית המצטיינים בפילוסופיה, כלכלה ומדע המדינה באוניברסיטת תל אביב.
