Area of Research: Modern Wars

Ruth Pines Feldman is a PhD candidate in the School of Political Science, Government, and International Affairs at Tel Aviv University, where her doctoral dissertation focuses on the concept of victory in modern wars, under the supervision of Prof. Azar Gat.

Ruth completed her master’s thesis in the Honors Program in Political Science at Tel Aviv University, focusing on Egypt’s national security concept during the Sadat era and the influence of the superpowers on this concept, with particular emphasis on Egypt–Israel relations, the War of Attrition, the Yom Kippur War, and the peace agreement. She also holds a B.A in Communication and Political Science from Tel Aviv University.

Ruth has 10 years of experience in Israel’s leading research and policy institutes. Ruth formerly led the Public Opinion Research Project “The National Security Index” in the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) at Tel Aviv. She is currently a Senior Fellow and Senior Advisor to the Head of the Misgav Institute for National Security.
