Area of Research: Comparative Politics

Barak Zur is a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at Tel Aviv University. His research interests lie in comparative political economy, migration studies, and political behavior. His dissertation focuses on how migration opportunities shape the political attitudes and behavior of those who remain in their home countries. As part of his academic work, Barak also specializes in computational text analysis and data harmonization. He holds a BA in Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics (PPE) from Tel Aviv University, as well as an MA in Economic History and an MSc in Economics from Bayreuth University in Germany. Barak was a guest researcher at the Cluster of Inequality at the University of Konstanz in 2024, and he is currently (2025–26) a guest researcher at the Centre for Political Research at Sciences Po, Paris (CEVIPOF).
