ד"ר הני זובידה, יליד העיר בגדד בעירק, גדל בישראל. הני סיים את לימודי התואר הראשון במדעי המדינה וסוציולוגיה (B.A.) באוניברסיטת תל אביב ועסק בתחום ייעוץ וניתוח סטטיסטי במשך כשלוש שנים, כשהוא מתמקד בעיקר בחברה הישראלית ובמערכות הבחירות השונות. בהמשך, חזר הני לאוניברסיטת תל אביב ללימודי מוסמך (M.A) בחוג למדעי המדינה. בשנת 1998 נסע הני ללימודי הדוקטורט במחלקה למדעי המדינה (Politics) באוניברסיטת ניו יורק (NYU), שם סיים גם לימודי מוסמך (M.A) בספטמבר 2000.
תזת המוסמך של הני "הרצף הפוליטי בישראל: שינוי והמשכיות", זכתה בפרס התיזה הטובה ביותר לשנת 2002 מטעם האגודה הישראלית למדע המדינה. בשנת 2007 זכתה תזת הדוקטורט של הני בפרס עבודת הדוקטורט הטובה ביותר מטעם האגודה הישראלית למדע המדינה. הני פרסם עם עמיתיו שני מאמרים, זכה במלגות ופרסים ולימד באוניברסיטאות שונות בישראל ובארה"ב. בשנת 2006, הצטרף הני לסגל הקבוע בבית ספר לאודר לממשל, דיפלומטיה ואסטרטגיה במרכז הבינתחומי הרצליה.
כיום מלמד וחוקר הני באופן נרחב את תחומי הפוליטיקה ההשוואתית, מתודולוגיות והתנהגות בוחרים. הני מתמחה בעיקר במערכת הבחירות בישראל, מוביליות חברתית בחברה הישראלית, הדמוקרטיה בישראל, הסכסוך הישראלי-פלשתיני, המצב הסוציו-אקונומי והפוליטי בישראל ותיאוריות בהתנהגות בוחרים וניתוח מערכות בחירות בעולם.
כמו כן, הני היה חבר בין מייסדי הקשת הדמוקרטית המזרחית, וכיום הוא מלווה ארגונים רבים בעשייה חברתית וייעוץ, ובעיקר עוסק בליווי אגוד הסטודנטים האתיופים הארצי. הני הינו פובליצסט ובעל טורים בעיתונות הישראלית, מעריב, נענע10, וסטטוס הינם חלק מהאכסניות בהן הני כתב ועדיין כותב -- את כל הטורים ועדו רבים אחרים ניתן למצוא בבלוג של הני תחת בית רשימות www.notes.co.il/hani. הני התארח ומתארח בתוכניות טלוויזיה שונות, חבר קבוע בפאנל הפוליטי בתוכנית הבוקר המקצוענים (כשנה), אורח בפוליטיקה, חדשות כול הערוצים, מתראיין קבוע ל-BBC בנושאי בחירות בישראל ועוד.
